The way to know if it is leeches is to look for circular sores on the fish

Are these sudden deaths or did you notice a change in behavior?

if you can remove all your inverts.. I have potassium permanganate which is plant safe.
my last batch of moss came with velvet, so this could be something else that came with the plants |

if you told us earlier today.. I wouldve brought u some
despite all the claims of how harmful this stuff is supposed to be on the internet....I've managed to dose the tank just fine with guestimations and had the formosas survive. I guess if you want to dose, you should definitely take the fish out too. give them a milder PP bath and nuke the tank with extra strength PP. it does turn your tank brown (be warned!) so if you have white sand or something ...>.> it can however be scrubbed off the glass. |

Man Im really sorry about your fish. Thats a big loss...I wonder if theres a bacteria thing? Did you clean the plants? Cuz I mean we all bought stuff from there right? Maybe not from THAT tank but I dunno how they are with crosscontamination.

Clout will copper-contaminate the silicone seams, at least that's what I've read.

UUUGH COMMON NAMES. Okay.
Reef King? Or reef aquarium- or aquarium king.. something...I dont even remember the name, its on 8th ave, right by the N train. They have 2 danio species that I thought were pretty cool, Blue Red Line Danios... after some googling, they are calling it a pearl danio morph- but the scientific names are different- might be a different species, http://www.seriouslyfish.com/wp-cont...-2-288x177.jpg this is a good photo of it, the orange catches the light and shines. Another was called the Lake Line Danio and...I dont even remember what it looks like, maybe albert remembers. CRS for about 7.50, good looking cherries for 4? The one on ave U, aquarium gallery or something E 15 had what the lady insisted were Flying Foxes, but I thought was a SAE. 3.50? And they had ick. |

Planaria won't harm your fishes. They look very different from leeches, planarias have a triangle head, and they move by gliding on the glass or the substrate. Leeches swim in a eel-like motion.

I've had leeches come with my blackworms before. They are usually grey or brown and are about 1cm long. They can contract and become smaller, being hard to see. They would decimate my blackworms before I could feed them to my fish.

Also planaria curls up into a dot whenever it provoked, making it almost invisible
