It's getting colder, should I add a heater?
My 5 gallon neo tank sits in front of a drafty window and door for lack of anywhere else to put it in my apartment. The water's been in the high 60's to low 70's, depending on room temp (as I said, drafty), and it seems that the shrimp aren't growing as fast as I'm used to seeing. I've noticed that some other shrimp in a much warmer bowl are maturing much faster, so maybe it's time to break out the heater for the main tank. Opinions?

Can't hurt. It will keep the water temp stable. I'd set it for low 70's.

I would try to close that window as much as possible. See if you can mount a heavy fabric curtain over that window.
Your shrimp will appreciate the addition of a heater & I would try to keep that tank in the low 70's.

I think I have about 50+ juvi red rilis in the 5 gallon. The other "tank" is really a half gallon bowl (didn't realize it was so small when I got it) that's been doing oddly well despite its size and my general ignoring of it. It's being kept right under a powerful and fairly hot desk lamp, and the room is kept at about 70.
