my Amano and Ghost shrimp are always preggers. They are quite a bit larger then the males. Amano shrimp seem to carry more eggs. After about two weeks you can see little black dots on the eggs (eyes). Brackish water is needed to successfully keep the baby shrimp going. I haven't be able to successfully hatch any babies yet. I have to do more research about brackish water.

Yesterday she tormented me by hanging upside down right beneath the surface. As soon as I got the camera focussed she flitted away. Tease!

Yea I had 2 prego females both had massive amounts of eggs. Today seen alot of babies in my spec v.

Ghost shrimp babies do not need brackish water. They need a tiny food source, like copepods or ostracods. I have had success with greenwater from a little pond in our flowerbed as well.

My girl's first pregnancy and 2 of her eggs are teetering on the edge of the membrane.

I think she dropped on yesterday. But that was the day I fed bee pollen so I can't be sure.

It must be shrimp breeding season! I just found two berried females in my tank

I've only had mine a little longer than two weeks now.. wasn't expecting it so soon.
