Very cool... I got a picture of the one that showed up in my tank.

Just a quick update - there are definitely just 3 of them in there. Did a 40% water change today since I was changing all my other tanks. I've dropped some random pieces of HC in and other misc. stuff in there while I'm waiting for them to grow up a little before transfer to my other tank.

Keep note on when they go from free floating to mini adult form. As soon as they're near mini adult, they're most likely going to live.

The 4 survivors are all doing well still. I occasionally throw a piece of algae wafer in there, but mostly they subsist on the algae growing in the tank. I've thrown some random plant trimmings floating on the surface and one of them has roots almost to the ground.

I think it'll look pretty cool if the tank is just a big mess of roots - might take a few more months though =)

nice shots of the shrimplets

my only female in my 5 gallon dropped a couple days ago and I found at least 5-10 in my water change water today but was able to save them by pouring off most all the water into the my sink then sloshing the lil bit of water they were hangin in at the bottom back into the tank (I am glad I had a nice look into my bucket)

Neglected this tank for about 2 months, just topped it off once or twice when I saw it was too low for the pump to be doing any good.

It grew a really nice algae film on all three sides - couldn't even see inside of it. Most of the plants died too, so there is mulm everywhere. =/

Anyway, I finally started cleaning it up expecting the worst for my shrimp, but lo and behold, all four of them are still alive and looking pretty great - including another berried!

This is what it looked like after I did a 50% WC and scraped down two of the sides. It's not pretty.

I tossed two Nerite snails that were struggling to adapt to my 110G into here. They are going to think they died and went to algae heaven.

I also hooked up the tubing on the filter outflow again, just for a few days to help clean the water up.

Sad to hear you've got to start over, but I'm glad some shrimpies survived!

So, in a matter of 3 days, those two Nerite snails have cleared about 70% of the remaining algae. Quite impressive.

I also drip-acclimated another shrimp (RCS I think) that hitch-hiked on some plants I got at the SFBAAPS meetup last weekend... he had a fun time in my shot glass acclimator:

I floated some Frogbit on top of this tank last weekend, and I can't believe how quickly it grows! Some of the roots have dropped two inches or more in 5 days.

Getting 20+ RCS to fill this tank up tomorrow... I'll probably relocate the ghost shrimp to my Betta tank.

RCS have arrived! (and scored some cholla wood too ). They're drip-acclimating right now. I netted out the 4 ghost shrimp and they're drip-acclimating to my Betta's tank.

I want to put some other plants in here eventually - not sure what. I have an Anubias Nana Petite that might look pretty attached to the Cholla, but I want something a little taller for the background. I have some other Anubias sp. in my big tank that might transfer ok.

So about half of my RCS are in the filter area now (the side with the pump...). Not even really sure how they got over there, because the lower filter intake is blocked with filter floss... the only thing I can think is that they went down the filter-media channel and across.

Whatever, they seem to enjoy being back there.
