Black diamond and snails?
Just got some assassin snails and preparing for them I decided to dump some pond snails in my tank with black diamond. It's weird, right away it would seem painful to the pond snails. I'd drop one in and for a couple of seconds he would freak out, flip out, then after about 3 seconds he could run through it.
A couple of months ago when I got my rabbit snails I put them in with black diamond and they seem to do well in it, I even remember 1 digging in it looking for worms. What do you guys think? I'm 100% sure they can adapt, but not sure if they'll like it.

My pond snails do fine in black diamond. Maybe it was a difference in parameters that freaked out the snail?

Hmm. For the first couple of seconds it looked like they were reacting to the black diamond. They would come out of their shell to touch the sand, and them immediately suck back inside their shell, repeat that a couple of times and then they were fine with it. One did a couple of flips the first couple of times he touched the sand.
Edit: Made a little beach for them in their temporary container, and it doesn't seem to bother them at all. Four of them are borrowing in it right now. : )
