Under $50 lighting?
I'm trying to figure out what lighting to use for my 20H. Currently, I'm looking at:
Perfecto Incadescent http://www.amazon.com/Incandescent-R...aquarium+light Deep Blue Deluxe http://www.amazon.com/Deep-Blue-Delu...aquarium+light Are any others? Also, do they seem like good chooses? I'm not planning on injecting CO2 but may do Excel or some fertilizers... Thanks! |

Lots of options relatively inexpensive, have a 72" thats been running for over a year, no problems! Sent from a dark corner in my happy place

Have you considered spending a little bit more on a Finnex Fugeray? You would probably save money in the long-run with reduced electrical costs and no need for bulb replacements. Much slimmer than a normal light hood as well, and the LED's just look nice in terms of shimmer.

Texas what tank do you have the Fugeray on and what is your lighting? I am also contemplating in getting the fugeray for a shrimp tank.

A 20H tank is 24 inches long and about 17 inches high, so the light will be about 15 inches from the substrate if it sits on top of the tank. That Odyssea light will give you too much light unless you hang it 5-10 inches above the top of the tank. A Coralife T5HO or FishNeedIt T5HO light would work much better.

EDIT: just read that t5he=t5no so therefore the deep blue fixture would result in a very similar lighting to the single t8 I currently have. This lighting stuff... haha Last edited by TFish5; 10-10-2012 at 12:50 AM.. Reason: Ø |
