Cardinal baby survival
Anyone know any additive to increase survival of cardinal shrimplet? Only 3 of them survive so far.

I had no luck with these guys, but in other species I noted that survival rates went up as the overall population did, to a point. It seems like they are social creatures and the more of their own they see as babies, the more likely they are to survive. Unless there are enough to cause serious competition for resources, and disease epidemics.

No wonder the babies aren't surviving, that's a bad environment for them. Most people keep them in high pH/KH/GH tanks.

Increase your pH to 7.5 or so (do it gradually). Also they like hotter temperatures versus other dwarf shrimp, low 80s. They seem to be able to handle a wide variety of kH and gH, but I think in the lake they come from they are relatively low actually, below 4 for both. If you improve your condition baby survival should go up quite a bit. With all the problems I've heard about keeping Sulawes I am surprised they are doing as well as they are in your conditions.

try spot feeding them. cardinals aren't the most active feeders.

There is definitely some confusion in this thread. Some are referring to CBS and CRS (Caridina) which like the lower PH waters with low KH and GH. Some are referring to the Cardinal Sulawesi shrimp which like a higher PH/KH/GH, which are the correct shrimp
To add the the problem cantsay39 is not the OP and is referring to CBS/CRS and his tank parameters are not those of the OP. Its not the first time he/she has caused such confusion. Please wait for the OP to post his tank parameters. Cardinals are notorious for having low survival rates. Check out Xenxes 20L thread, and DK's thread (refer to mermaid shrimp) Nice blog BTW OP.

well it's my tank water parameters... hard to say some has the worst water parameters still able to get a colony, it's all based on the keeper and their shrimps able to adapt the environment, there are best examples out there, and im not one of them, but i kept it successful that way, and yet not recommended.
