Square glass container-help me scape!
Got bored today and decided to clean and start my first dry start tank. I don't like it much, except for the gem rocks (the ones that have crystals inside) and the gray one in front.
![]() ![]() Substrate- Organic potting soil, lots of twigs and stuff still in it. Capped with coarse sand Size-less than a gallon I think Flora-1 sprig of emerged creeping jenny, a few pieces of DHG, a java fern, and a little bit of java moss Fauna-none yet, but plan on either a betta and shrimp, shrimp only, or betta only. Fertilizing-plan to spray excel when algae shows up. Maybe an occasional does of flourish once I get some. Advice, opinions, etc are all appreciated. Thanks! Aquaponics FTW!

Pack that glass with plants! It's looking a little thin, which is fine, but expect a long time before you see much growth. The more plants you can put in, will also reduce your probability of the entire thing just dying off. Good luck and keep us posted!!

Latest FTS:
![]() ![]() Lots of growth from the hair grass relative to how much has died since purchase several months ago. It was about a 2x2 pot and only those pieces and a a few others scattered in the tanks survived TONS of algae in a severely neglected tank... The water onion looks ready to burst through the top. I need more of the gravel type sand then I will fill it in a few weeks. Tank journal, please visit and give advise http://www.plantedtank.net/forums/sh...d.php?t=187460 -Tapatalk
