Elppan's 15g Shrimp Hotel

Hey everyone! I figured I'd start a tank journal for my newest tank. It's a 15g that I'm working on turning into a shrimp habitat!

This is a dirted tank, here's my miracle gro organic potting mix, wetted down and surrounded with some pool filter sand

Covering the dirt with a sand cap

I think I'm going to be adding a little black Tahitian moon sand mixed in, still not sure yet.

9/25 - finished adding plants and flooded, picture in post below.

I'm needed some help on the hardscape, opinions please?
This is where I totally fail at tank scaping haha.

Sans weird rocks., well, except for the one cool round flat top one I can't seem to get rid of cause I think it's cute.

I actually don't think the rocks were weird at all.

They could end up looking pretty neat with some moss and additional plants.

I may add them back in, one at a time or so, depending. I've stuffed a bunch of plants in, and a bit of water, when it clears some I'll take another picture and get some more feedback.

I too think the rocks could be nice if they were strewn about in a natural way. Either use all the same color ones and group them or cover all the rocks with moss, which your shrimp will love anyway.

Consider moving the driftwood off center just a bit.

Either way, better get some plants in there; this is the PLANTED tank forum after all.

Ha, yeah I know, It's planted now, waiting for dust to settle to grab a pic.

Water starting to clear after flooding!

Added some plants, thoughts? Suggestions?
Yes, that is a very fancy homemade sponge filter on one side, and a Fluval nano filter on the other side.

Looks pretty good, I know my shrimp love climbing stem plants alot, maybe put some of those along the back of the tank?
