MN native plant
I was up in Cook, MN for a wedding and I found this while wandering near the lodge. It was growing out of a very very small "creek" near Elbow Lake.
Anyone have a clue what it might be? ![]()

Neat looking. Some kind of arrowhead plant. Saggitaria subulata probably. If you read the hunger games, it's the lead characters namesake.

Google searched a bit and found it is in the Sagittaria family; a common name for it is Tule Potato. Looks very similar to the Lasia spinosa that Hydrophyte has, minus the coolness factor and the sharp thorns.

I have a fat lot of that growing in a 5.5 on the porch. Propogates readily via runners. Flowers are white and smaller than a nicke. Plant grows to about 3 feet from the crown.
