ADA hype!


what is all the hype about ADA aqua soil new amazonia? is it THAT good? please share your results. im going to be using it soon and im currently using synthetic gravel only. it it good?

I ordered some for my shrimp tank. Keeps ideal pH for shrimps is my main reason.

oh and everyone is doing it.

It's good for lowering pH/gH for shrimp, and it's not like plants don't like a lower pH as well. Depending on which aquasoil you get, they usually come with nutrients in them as well.

Note, it's loaded with ammonia at the start (great for a fishless cycle or feeding the plants when you first plant) but can be bad if you plan on dumping in the gravel and livestock the same day. It usually takes 3-6 weeks for the ammonia to quit leeching from the soil.

I think it is a great active substrate, although one day I would like to try BW Soil, Mosura, Benibachi, Shirakura & DRL Akadama.

Its awesome as an active substrate. Especially for people like me with higher ph water that needs to get knocked down a tad.
Its great for growing plants and very easy to work with. At least compared to flourite and standard gravel
