What fish tank to buy???

I think we need to know a little more about what you are wanting to do, what's going to be in the tank, how much money you want to spend, etc.

I'd maybe like some Neon Tetras and Ramshorn snails or a Betta. Can you put the snails in with a Betta? I'd like to spend under $25 but I will go a little over.

25 US Dollars wont get you anything worth keeping tetras in, maybe an unfortunate Betta.
What part of the planet are you from?

The least I can recommend is the 6.6 gallon "bookshelf" aquarium from petco. On sale online under $40

OK so your an American and from up north somewhere. What you need to really do is start out on you first venture with the largest tank you can afford, both in cost and space requirements.
The smaller the tank the higher the your skill level will need to be to maintain it. A 10 or 20 Gallon tank with a good filter and Flourescant lighting is a good place to start.
Don't start with neons, rather look towards zebra danios or glofish.
You should look on your local craigslist for deals on used tanks.

Researching ways to start and maintain an aquarium would be a lot more useful than asking a vague question on a forum and receiving a hundred different opinions on how and what to keep.

Sub 5 gallon tanks are not for novices contrary to popular belief. It's easy to setup any tank by buying a kit and adding gravel water and fish. It's just as easy to disregard proper water parameters necessary per species selected and watch them die off by the day. By reading the broadly posed question in the first post, there seems to be no other objective other than to have fish and water. I suggest going to your lfs and speaking to someone while looking at their livestock. You'll have fish to choose from while having someone there guide you on their necessary requirements.

Most things can be purchase online these days but it seems you need some more guidance to start off with. take time to read through the journals on this site to get a better sense of what you'd like. Good luck
