Low to Medium-low Light 46" Bowfront

I am looking to do a low-tech (dirt bottom, no ferts, no CO2) 46gal bowfront planted (I haven't finalized, but mostly things lke anubias, java ferns, ludwigia, cypts, amazon sword, dwarf sag). My tank is 36" Long, 20" tall, and 12" wide at ends and 16" wide a midpoint.
I am worried the 36" Ray 2 will be too much light (I have a canopy and cannot raise the light more than maybe 2" without getting overly creative). Should I try two of the 18" Ray 2's? Or think about the Fugerays? Or do I just need to figure out a way to raise the fixture up more? Or am I missing something? I believe I need a PAR value of roughly 25 for this type of set up.

Another thought I just had, I will probably throw some duckweed in the tank. That should also filter some light, but I'm not sure how to factor that in, at least not in any precise kind of way.

Thanks,
Brian

The 36" FugeRays have not come nor have I received the numbers yet. Once they do get here I'd be able to take a better guess as to which would suit you best. The Ray 2 can always be raised to get you the PAR numbers you're looking for. Mounted on the tank it'll surely be too much than you need unless. Duckweed and a window screen may filter some light but I'm not sure it will filter enough.

Once I get the data for the new fixtures I'll be sure to post them for you.

Thanks, I thought that was probably the case.
Realistically, how high off the tank would I have to have the Ray 2s (either 36" or two of the 18") to get close to that low to medium-low light level?
And any rough idea about when the Fuge Ray 36" will be available?

Hi Brian. Well from substrate you're probably looking to get the light 24-30" above that for low-medium light.

The FugeRays are scheduled to arrive mid September. No real set date yet, sorry.

Thanks. I may check back with you. I have some prep work to do for the tank anyway. And realistically I was probably not going to have it up and running before beginning of Sept, so I could probably hold off a few weeks.
I was looking at the FugeRays and at 18" above substrate the 24" Fugeray PAR value is 22, and the 30" Fugeray PAR value is 30, so these seem to be more in line with what I am shooting for.

I'm going to play around with the canopy when I get home today and see if its possible to get the Ray 2 at least 24" of the tank and go from there.

Thanks,
Brian
