Government trying to turn the forest into farms for its expanding population, giving mineral rights for coal mining, building roads and rail transportation across the island for the coco palm industry, lumber industry and transportation for its residents may eliminate this island's rain forest eventually. The forest of Borneo is rich in fresh water fish, plant and fauna diversity.

It's true. However, one can only make so much progress without consuming resources. I don't really agree with the excessive amount of deforestation, though...
