Two "WHAT is that?" moments

I could use some help. I found both of these things today and have no idea what either one is... and if it's safe to allow it to live.

#1

1/4-1/2 inch, spine-like tail, 6(?) legs on the very front.

#2
Red, round, about the size of the dot on this i -> i

I thought it might be eggs from something, but there are only two male fish in this tank and some ghost shrimp.

Thoughts? Please? I'm kinda weirded out and ready to burn it all down. I hate creepy crawlies.

the eggs are snail eggs. Do you have any? If not, you soon will

Not sure about #1, but i'd would pull it out. That many legs and it's not a shrimp, can't be good IMO.

#1 looks a bit like a dragonfly larvae to me

I'm thinking #1 is a damselfly larva or nymph. It's close to a dragonfly, but with a longer body.

I agree that #2 looks like it could be snail eggs, but I don't know which kind of snail.

Did you recently add new plants to the tank? If so, where did you get them (from another hobbyist, from a LFS, from the wild)?

Damselflies larvae have a body like that but with two feather like things at the end of the tail which are their gills.

See if it's harmful, maybe is going to take care of the snails and then morph into a good predator out of your tank.

I have problems with killing just in case
