my lfs were selling them as yellow something tetras !!! ive had 2 for like a year and they havent grown past an inch , thats why i thought they where tetras as barbs grow to about 3 dont they ?????

Gold barbs at their max can reach about 3" yes. Tiger barbs can get bigger but can be vicious.

Gold barbs as you have their are a lovely community fish and do a great little dance when confronting each other.

i do go maiden head for most my bits , but i did go pets at home once just to have a look and got a couple plants and these 2 barbs but i didnt pay for them for some reason , free fish but pets at home sucks , they have no idea of keeping fish!

For some reason all LFS' call fish they can't ID "Tetras"...
