Now, I've seen some aquarium supply manufacturers (Oliver Knott, ADA, etc) make similar stuff for those looking for that "photo" ready, hazy/cloudy background look for there setup.

Anyone try this? Or has anyone tried the ones made by aquarium manufacturers and have something to say?

I was actually interested in applying this to my tank. Please share your results, and if you dont mind, how much was it and how big an area will it cover?

I used this stuff on a sliding glass door. It worked great, and 2 years later when I peeled it off it didn't leave any residue whatsoever.

It was $20 CDN

the box says the sheet is 24"x36"...

I can't be the first guy to try this.. Has anyone out there tried this or the "real" aquarium ones? I'm hesitant to try without hearing feedback...

I guess there's no harm in trying if it comes off so easily and doesn't damage the tank. It's just I gotta probably remove some substrate to turn the Tank around to work on it....

I've used similar stuff on my annoyingly placed shower window. Stuff works great! Its been up for 3 years with no pealing or discoloring. I think it's a great idea. You got me thinking about switching my black background to this stuff!

I saw that but then with 5% "limo" window tint instead on my Nano.

Looking forward to see it on your tank.

Here is what that frosted window film looked like on my old shrimp tank. It's very easy to remove if you decide you don't want it on there. We use this type of film for different types of applications. I have every color of tint under the rainbow and even thought about putting some of this frosted film up for sale in the SNS but don't know of a safe and cost effective way to ship it without it getting damaged.

Default Painting frost film?

I realize this is an old thread, but I'm thinking of using this frost film to achieve the iwagumi effect. However, I was wondering if anyone had tried painting behind the film to give the gradation of color that a lot of professional iwagumi photos have? I realize that a lot of them use shadow/lighting effects to get that photo, but I was wanting to achieve it perhaps using blue acrylic paint and fading it out as it goes to the top. I tried searching for it everywhere thinking that it was a product that was sold, but I can't find it commercially. I guess the film is cheap enough that I can go and buy a roll and experiment with it. My second option was to go to a professional printers and have the effect created digitally, and then printed on vinyl, which i could attach to the back of the aquarium.

Any advice or info out there?
