As of last sunday i added a few plant trimmings and what was left of my emmersed growth into this tank AND yesterday i moved all my shrimp over!!!!
i had 20 little babies stored in a 1 gallon over the past month while i set this thing up. soil has leached most of the good stuff and everything is balanced so now with a few floating plants and one ludwigia repens broadleaf floater that came up when i took the shot emmersed plants will be moved after the new aquatic growth gets trimmed off

well to give an update then. i didn't seal the black vinyl coat on the back very well it seems and i ended up peeling it off the other day. my ludwigia i've trimmed twice now and my wisteria has reached the water surface in two locations. thinned the floaters the other day.
moss is growing slower than poop but that's expected. ludwigia glandulosa didn't make the emmersed transition. i will be trying it again when i take clippings from the main tank the emmersed crypts have grown just fine looks more like a jungle than a scape but my scrimp are happy and breeding.. have had a few berried females let their eggs hatch

That sounds like it's going pretty good, Ludwigia glandulosa doesn't like to grow under water anyway and they'll love the moss. I just noticed how old this journal was so there must be a reason you haven't followed up with more photos, is it still growing and producing shrimp.

i guess i am do for an update LOL
tank is doing great. i've now figuredo ut my high 8.0 or higher ph is due to additives from the treatment facility. i still dunno what they use but my kh is only 5.. aqwuasoil on my main tank only gets it down to 7.2 LOL this tank has been converted frm dirt due to anearobic spots. .they were BAD but ni shrimp loses from it so that was a plus! running a MARINELAND SINGLE BRIGHT led fixture that has modified sticky SMD strips on it for extra light. no C02. fert once per week and 50% water change per week PH drop is accomplished by IAL currently however a peat water filter may be in order. idea taken from (Getochkn) second shot is scrimp munching on repshy shrimp souflette
