After purchasing my 30 gallon tank and attempting to grow my plants in standard gravel, I quickly realized my mistake. However a bullying issue (between Gold Gourami) led me to utilize my old 10 gallon tank. Instead of redoing my 30 gallon tank, I decided to use my 10 gallon tank for aquascaping. After reading forums on this site, I decided to set up my 10 gallon tank with Flourite as the only substrate. I also bought Flourish, root tabs, and I have a CO2 source in my tank. I only have one Gold Gourami living in the tank, and I do not plan on adding any other fish. I am using two 13 watt CFL bulbs over the tank, making a total of 26 watts for the 10 gallons.
What plants are in the tank now (all from my 30 gallon)
- Anarachis (they are fairly tall and I have plenty of them)
- Wisteria (they were really struggling in the 30 gallon, so I moved them all to the 10 gallon)
- Telanthera Cardinalis (a small clump, fairly new)
- I also have three other species I do not know the name of.
Now that the background information is over, my real question!
I want a luscious aquascape that appears to be overflowing with life and growth. I do not want to use any driftwood or rocks because the tank is only a 10 gallon, so mosses will not work.
Some requirements:
- Plants that grow quickly, or fairly fast. (I'm not patient at all)
- Plants that will provide an extremely lush environment.
- Plants of various heights. I need to know what plants will create thick backgrounds, and which plants will create amazing carpets.
- The rest is up to you!
MODS: I was unsure if this post should be placed in this category, or in the Plants category. So I apologize in advance if I chose the wrong one!
