Raising light

With this style hood/rim of the tank, what would be the most convenient way to raise the hood without having to drill into the ceilings/wall? Thanks!

If this is a 10 gallon or similar size tank, you can put a piece of 3/4 plywood under the tank, with a vertical board the same width, and run a couple of boards forward from that out over the tank, to hold the support wires for the light.

I did this at no cost, because I used all scrap wood.

Get closet hanger bars and u-bolt a pole to one side or both. U can zip tie them if your stand has legs. Then use 1" L-hinge bar section from HD to attach light strip(zip tie or screw) to overhang pole
