Holy Cow! It's Rainbow (?) Fry!
Well, A habrosus fry, anyway, as in one. A while back I moved my habrosus corys to my PFR/Tiger shrimp tank. I mentioned in another thread that, while I thought my shrimp population might drop, I actually saw a boom and have more shrimp babies than ever in that tank.
Well, apparently the shrimp are not the only ones getting busy in that tank. THis morning, I looked in and saw this little guy swimming around. ![]() (Not a great picture, I know. I really have got to learn to use this camera...and maybe get a better one!) I don't see any others anywhere, just this guy swimming all over the place. Is he going to be able to eat ground up flake food? I was actually just going to start this tank on Rapashy Shrimp Souffle...I wonder if he'll eat that. Cute little guy, ain't he? Very cool. I'm still waiting for my pygmeous to produce something. I'll have to get some habrosus.
Crushed flakes and rapashy powder Should work. Microworms & grindal worm would be a great addition.

Nice fry but that is not a cory fry it is probably a rainbowfish fry. I've heard of them being found in new plants but yeah that is not a habrosus fry. But anyway that will look cool when it grows!

You know...I didn't think it looked like a cory. But the only thing in that tank has been habrosus and shrimp.
It is possible that I moved over some moss from my tank of gertrude's rainbows when I relocated them. It certainly looks more like one of them than a cory cat. I think you are right...I think it's a rainbow. That is even better news! They are in a new tank now, but hopefully if they have spawned once then they will do so again! The little guy seems to be doing fine in the PFR tank. I think I'll leave him in there for a while until he grows a bit.

Female jumped out of the bucket when i wasn't looking Since the upgrade i've added 3 Dwarf Neon rainbowfish and 4 emerald eye rasboras I fed the fry Hikari First Bites Keep us updated! |

Wow silva_unt! You got some pretty little hitchhikers there!
I will see about picking up some fry food, but he seemed to be eating little bits of the rapashy..so maybe I won't need it. I looked and looked, but I don't see any others. There is a LOT of moss in that tank though. I just hope my bows do it again. The whole reason that I moved them in the first place was so they could have a tank of their own in which to breed. Since they are clearly spawning, I will have to double check the filter in their tank to make sure it is fry safe. This little guy is ok since he's in a shrimp tank with the filter intakes covered.
