i have a 72.. and i run a green led from one side of my take.. it shines at night, and creates great shawdows.. plus looks hella cool.. whats really nice, is alot of my fish become more active at night. Glass cats are at the top swimming in the current, during the day, they are under a log.. my glass fish come out.. . shrimp.. ..its just a whole nother life at night..

Benefit will be for animals active at night, they don't run into decorations and other fish... lol I don't know if that's true, but I figure that with full moon they will have some light to orientate themselves...

Benefit will be for you to be able to watch your fish after lights out.

Cons... they cost some money. You can easily diy them or pay the ridiculous fees for commercial LED fixtures.

Benifit for me is that I now have a night light in that room so do not step on kids toys when I am going to work at 6am. , Just joking, still step on the kids toys, but do light the nightlight effect once I round the stairs.

Mine is too week to really use much for nightime fish veiwing, was a little disapointed about that...

I was low on time so purchased the coralife I think. It is pretty neat - but wish it was a tad brighter.

Hey mate,
I just wired mine up all you need is a acdc converter that puts out around 3 or 4 volts and wire a few LED's up in series. I got my LED's for $2 each from a Dick Smith store, Toooooo easy
