Lookie what I found at my local Petsmart. : )

I wish I could have taken him home with me but I have no room, so I called my friend an she came and got him : ) He pigged out while at the store. Ive never seen one like him in ANY pet store before..

He was labeled as a Half moon

Awesome, I saw a white one like him at my petsmart the other day... Had to stop myself lol

petsmart i think has a new supplier of bettas, every time i've been to one lately they have some reeeallllyyy cool guys. i saw a jet black crowntail there once with this interesting webbing effect on its tail spikes (whatever you call them lol)

nice. he looks like a black orchid with a red wash. i doubt he is a halfmoon though, most of petsmarts "halfmoons" are super deltas (its the same gene, just not expressed as strongly).

White ones at our local Petsmart are almost a dime a dozen. These black ones are super rare though. Ive seen 2 in the last 2 years. A few months ago I picked up a poor (meaning its a black orchid coloration but its not something a breeder would breed to produce more )black orchid from them. I'm not sure if they switched suppliers or if they are just getting nicer ones in. I am surprised he was still there, bettas around here fly off the shelfs.
