betta food (that sinks?)

My fish flakes that i use for my betta float and they love to hide in corners my betta can't see. I was wondering if there was a dry/live food that I should use for my betta that actually sinks?

Did you just get your betta? mine took 4-7 days to actually start eating. Freeze dry worms will sink if you poke it.

freeze-dried food isnt good as a staple. it can cause serious bloat, and isnt all that nutritious. i only use it as an occasional treat.

most bettas preffer to eat off the surface. but if yours doesnt, get some Repashy Meat Pie. here is where i got mine: http://tedsfishroom.com/store/produc...food-meat-pie/
im feeding it to my betta spawn and all the fry love it.

I've never used floating-as said before can cause bloating, and can be harder to portion out.

My guys prefer the NLS, new life spectrum or Hikari-they don't disintegrate, sink after a bit or will float initially after being put in.

I also would suggest as others have to supplement if you want with meal worms, brine shrimp etc..

On both the Hikari and the NLS my rescues from big box stores always become more iridescent and better in color- who knows if proper care is the cause, or if its the food, but hey the stuff has worked for me!

Anyway my two cents.

i was thinking about throwing in some adult cherry shrimp in that are breeding so my betta has some fry. I have had the betta for about 2-3 months now, it's just the floating pellets like to hide in the top glass (it's a fluval edge, so yeah)

I might try some blood worms for a bit until i get the shrimp

should I take freeze dried out his diet? His new life spectrum sinks so I don't have that issue.

My betta killed all the shrimp in his 3 gallon. My female only eats the baby shrimp. its depends on your betta if shrimp will survive in your set up. also if enough cover is provided for the little ones to make it. try to feed a varied diet.
