Looking for UG filters, Recommend a brand?

Getting a tank in the near future with these dimensions....
18" L x 6" W x 7" H

I'm a bit too lazy to use a diy UG and attach it to my HOB filter.....so I'm looking for a good commercial UGF to use with Azoo Plant Grower Bed, FSS, or lava rock. Filtration will be coupled with my HOB.

Substrate is still up in the air b/c I don't know if I want mischlings, OEBT's+BTOE, or some (moderately) cheap TB's.

Anyone got a good recommendation for a UG?

I can't help with the UGF but what tank is that you're getting? I kinda like the sound of those dimensions

Deep Sea Blue 3 gallon long. Made to be a betta tank. You can find them at your local petland discounts.

Hmm...UG Filter might not be really useful...why do you want that?

I don't think there's a UGF with those dimensions. You'll probably have to make a DIY one. :I

Is it too late to pull out my Flourite and put one of those in (because you know how much I hate mulm)? And what kind of power head would be suitable for tanks that small?

Yeah I might have to make another DIY one since it looks the same. Anyone know of air driven ones? I think I remember one where it's made by patches that you could adjust size

I dislike flourite cause of the shape. Its weird shape seems to trap it easily

Instead of an S shape I would do a loop or a square 8.

Why?

Banana, I'm going to put the Flourite back. I like how it looks in the tank. I'm just awaiting Speedie's new shrimpment and if they're gonna come like next week, it's a bit too late to add a UGF.

Is there a DIY for a small UGF? Like not Liam's big thing? My husband is really handy and likes to make things.

They make PVC pipes in many sizes. Or just get acrylic pipe, learn how to use a heat gun and bend it.

I made a mini ugf for my 5 gal and I attached it to my HOB AC20. Easy peasy....kinda got lazy and just stuck the intake tube into the pvc pipe and wrapped the connection with plastic wrap....still holds lmao......

Gonna think of a better way....also gonna look for some commercial UGF's over the next week or so.

I managed to fit one of Liam's DIY UGF systems in a Fluval Ebi using the same diameter of pipe so if you wanted to make something with a thinner diamter pipe I am sure that you could scale it down to whatever you wanted/needed.
