Summer Heat Tips

This one is to help the Newbis. Post your tips to keep your tanks cool.

I put 3 - 1gl jugs of water in my full sized freezer for about 30min. It drops the temp to about 35degrees (just starting to get Icy) In my 40 it will drop temps 5-6degrees. If I do the WC when the tank is 83 getting it to 77 It usually lasts 6-8hrs. In a non-airconditioned room windows open fans on.

It has been 90+ for two weeks now. Plants are doing well!!!

fan but watch for evaporation. My aquatek dual fan setup was able to keep my tank down as low as 68 when the room temperature is 75. Just got it today but I like it so far. My house usually sits around 75 degrees. Trying to get my tank to sit at around 72 for OEBTs
