swordtail platy cross.
I think my swordtails and platies have cross bred. My babies are starting to get color in them. Some are black and what looks like yellow(like the mother play) and some are all orange with a few black spots(like the male swordtaill).

Yes i know the breeder is dirty, but as you can see, the babies are orange, not yellow.

It's very likely. Hybrids aren't uncommon.

Many 'fancy' swordtails are already hybrids with different platys, so who knows? How long have you had the fish? Livebearers, particularly platys and sword, can hold spermatophores for quite some time, so the father could be some fish you have never seen as well.

I've had them since april. The same mother has dropped a batch of fry once, the babies all got eaten, now these fry, and the other day i saw the male swordtail chasing the platy and stuff, now the platy is pregnant again.
