Hose fitting and filter restriction
Over the weekend I purchased an Eheim 2213 filter to replace my zoomed 501. I figure my aquarium could use more flow. I am currently using an inline atomic co2 diffusor from green leaf that uses an 8/12mm hose size and the 2213 uses a 12/16mm hose size. I want to avoid having to buy another inline diffusor. Is it possible to use the diffusor on the new hose with some modification? If it is possible, would the smaller diameter create too much flow restriction and perhaps damage the 2213?
Any advise or suggestions is greatly appreciated! |

That small area wont reduce too much flow. However buying piping and modifying everything. It would be almost the same cost to just buy a new diffuser.
Too much work for too little gain. But if u wanna modify. Grab some hose barbs and pvc reducers. One end for the smaller hose barb and one end for the larger hose barb. Ull need two setups. One for each side. The barbs are likely to reduce more flow than the diffuser

Blazingwolf you are right... The price is about the same. I went ahead and ordered a larger diffusor. Thanks for the replies~!
