Buying a used Azoo regulator
I found a used Azoo regulator for $40. Is it worth it to buy a used one or buy the aquatek regulator brand new? Just curious if its worth it or not. thanks

From what I can tell, the Azoo, Aquatek, and Milwaukee are the same (very low) quality. In my opinion, the Aquatek is the most praised of all the cheap reg units because it's the most inexpensive.
$40 is a very good price on a regulator rig. The Azoo regulator itself has a decent track record. The solenoid doesn't. And the needle valve is extremely tricky to dial in, though once you find your sweet spot, the bubble count will likely stay there until the cylinder pressure starts dropping at the last 5% or less of volume (a consequence of a very cheap single stage regulator), at which point your fish will possibly suffer (or die) if A) you're running CO2 near the maximum your fish can handle, and/or B) you aren't paying attention. The Azoo, like the Aquatek and Milwaukee (and all their clones) is a decent intro rig. Just don't get any expensive fish until you upgrade your regulator - which you inevitably will, probably within the first 12 months. |

I agree with what Kev is saying.. But based my thoughts off a New Aquatech Vs a USED Azoo. With the used no idea of the real shape. No warranty, Not sure even if it ends up working right how long that will last. Also, while all the cheaper line regs use a cheap needle valve I feel the Aquatech is probably the easiest to adjust and hold and with a preset low side it should help for EOTD.

Just stay the hell away from the Chinese knock off, get a product that has contacts in your country for warranty etc.
I had a bad experience with one and there no way they will test or replace it. Not to mention they don't speak English and it's a 24 hour time difference. The shipping alone is enough for an new regulator. If you play the Ebay game, you can get a used regulator, but in all honestly, who has the patient for that?
