Colorado on fire!

I heard about this video on our local news the other night and decided to take a look. I have watched Colorado wild fires burn all of my life living here, but man this time lapse video of the Waldo Canyon fire (just outside Colorado springs, and 45 min. from my home) is just intense.

As it sits, right now almost all of our fires are contained to a point.

Wow. Amazing footage. I can't even begin to imagine what it must be like to live near that. My heart goes out to all those who have lost their homes and loved ones in the fires.

From what the news is saying there were only two fatalities to the fire in Colorado Springs, an elderly couple. They are still trying to figure out if it was arson, or accident that caused this whole mess.

Saw they arrested some idiots taking advantage of the evacuations to rob homes.

Used to live in Monument and was looking to move into the hills in a year or two. This stuff always scares me though.

I don't mind naturally occurring wildfire but arson ticks me off. I will never understand the point.
Sad though... It's such a beautiful area... Actually I was supposed to be up there to visit friends and family. But they told me not to come since they all had to evacuate.
I hope the area recovers nicely (they always do).

That fire did create for some amazing shots on that video.

I just hope it wasn't arson.
It seems like someone is always setting fires down where I live.

The other day this entire strip of wilderness a block from my home was up in flames cause of an arsonist. And all I ask is why?
