Most Agressive Roots

What commonly kept aquarium plant has the most agressive roots?

Pic of said roots are welcome

I would say regular swords... Mine have gotten some absurd roots! I don't have any photos sadly

But at one point I pulled one out and the root length was almost half the length of the leaves!

For me, it's Bacopa species. Specifically Bacopa australis. Sends roots in every direction imaginable. So many roots, in fact, that I have to trim them above the surface of the substrate a couple times per week regardless of whether or not the tank is low-tech (no ferts & CO2) or high-tech.

Swords absolutely, as they are heavy root feeders. But also my wisteria have been shooting out tons of roots.

Swords yeah, jungle valls gets some crazy roots, and +1 to the person who said wisteria... I like to grow it floating, and the roots get over 6 inches long. looks incredible imo but i've got no camera and can't be bothered to send myself a pic from my cell and upload it though sorry

HeartNet - I'll never have to worry about Eriocaulon “Aussie 2″ getting root bound. I think I set a record for fastest kill on that one

I think red tiger lotus ranks right up there with swords. I've had them put out roots that radiated 12"-18" in all directions from the main plant.

Haha. In a way, thats a blessing and a curse in disguise. Imagine if your substrate got bricked like that though. It would be a major PITA to deal with.

For me tiger lotus have the quickest root systems/spread. I had one literally span its roots 30" in my 29g.

it's a little bit ridiculous, since it's a water column feeder, but for me... water sprite!
i pulled mine to trim after about i dunno, three months? of being planted (in plain gravel!) and the root system must have been ten inches long and one thick (if it were a rectangle)...in my 5.5 gal tank o_O

I've got a Madigascar Lace. I don;t think it's any heavier rooted than any of my crypts.

Maybe an older plant will have a larger root system, I certainly don't it's overly aggressive,
