How Much Is this co2 system worth ?
Im fairly new to co2 systems as all i have right now is DIY on my 75 gallon.... and changing 5 bottles of DIY Co2 every 2 weeks is becoming boring not to mention the BBA that has started :-(
The pictures below are from the person selling a co2 "complete" system. I just want to know is it complete ? And how much is a reasonable price ? Ihave no idea if it works as the person bought it as a package that came with a 125 gallon tank so they only want the tank and filters. Is there anything i should be asking ? ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Oh and are these type of bottles refilable ? If so where would one go to refil and roughly how much would that cost ?

bottles are refillable, you can refill at a local welding supply store.
at first glance it all looks good. i would plug the solenoid in and make sure that it "clicks" as it engages and disengages as it opens (or closes) |

i'm a low baller. gotta start low. you dont want to pay a lot and you want to set the sellers expectation of how much you plan on spending. offer $100. see where he goes from there. i probably wouldnt go over $150
but i'm cheap. |

Check for the hydro date on it. It will only cost you $15-20 to fill it but maybe $50 to have it hydro tested. Looks like a steel tank, older and a pieced together regulator. Probably only worth 50-75 used as is

To me it looks like a bunch of parts that may, or may not fit together. That second regulator has 2 low pressure gauges, not sure what the purpose for that is. Even so, the tanks is probably worth more than the $50 you bid.

I'll say one thing... Those Whisper Second Nature air pumps are old. Does anyone know when they stopped making them? They remind me of what I used as a kid, and we're talking decades ago! Not saying those air pumps are that old, but their style reminds me of the really old ones.
Makes me wonder if the original person (who sold the 125g tank) got his stuff used. If so, then who knows what works or how well or for how much longer. Edited to add: Found out they were manufactured at least in 1990 (22 years ago) and were already discontinued as of March, 2005 (7 years ago).

my bottle is the same size, and it cost me $35 to fill. When i took my bottle in to get filled it was out of date, they didnt charge me a penny to swap out the bottle for one that was in date.

Wouldn't pay for it at all. I think you could waste your money some other way.
