Silicone Grease Eheim O-Ring
Hey everyone,
I got this http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...ls_o05_s00_i00 to put on my Eheim O-ring. Just want to double check and make sure this is OK to put on there. It is 100% food-grade, and packaging says it's non-toxic.

Regular Vaseline is tank safe and often used on the O-ring. Don't let the "petroleum product" get to your thinking. It is a different type petrol than gas/oil. Plastic is also a petroleum product! Lots of people use it.

^ This. I needed to use petroleum jelly on a cheap canister's gasket and it works very well for sealing it. But it does need to be re-applied each time you mess with the connection (in this case, it's the top/bottom seal for the canister's o-ring so every time I clean it)

Agreed. Just use some Vaseline from the drug store, thats what Eheim recommends.
