Marineland Double Bright
Anyone using this fixture over plants? I'm considering it for my 30long. The PAR ratings at that height are about right for my plants and scape. My concern is that the light output will be too white for sufficient photosynthesis. Yellow light is better, right?
Any advise would be appreciated! Thanks in advance Joe |

I have a 36-48" sitting on top of a standard 30 gallon tank. It has more than enough light for crypts, watersprite and sunset hygro. If you have a 30 long, you might want to actually raise the light because it has a bit of a spotlighting effect. My tank looks evenly lit but if there is a bunch of gunk in the water I can see spotlights in the top half of the tank.

That's exactly what I wanted to hear. I was just concerned whether or not the spectrum was good enough. But yea, its almost entirely a crypt tank, with a few anubias, a small java fern and soon some marsilea minuta so its a pretty low light tank.
Thanks a lot for your input! Joe |
