Blackworms and the Planted Tank

So, I feed my clawed frogs blackworms. Their tank has no substrate, I throw them in, they eat them when they are hungry and get extremely fat for a few days, lol.

My latest purchase of blackworms, I had this idea. Would they be beneficial in a soil substrate planted tank to help aerate the soil? I know I have some patches that could use some digging creatures, and I already have too many snails to count, so no MTS.

They could also act as a food source, but I'm not sure any of my guys will eat them:

Blue Ram,
Serpae Tetra,
Black Skirt Tetra,
Bleeding Heart Tetra,
Oto,
Cory Paleatus,

Anyways, I could see them working, but I could also see them breeding like crazy if none are being eaten. Hmmmm, any thoughts?

Once they're in the substrate they aren't going to be gotten rid of short of nuking the tank, just so you know. They'll crawl around eating poop and all manner of nasty stuff, and your fish will grab some from time to time.

Don't do it. Do it the right way and use MTS. I have some for RAOK right now in case you change your mind.

There is someone who has a journal on Aquaria central
User name DeeDeeK.
However I doubt you'll have any survivors with the community you are keeping them with.
