Green Spot Algae!

What's the best way to get green spot algae off of a acrylic tank wall? I have scrubbed it with a toothbrush, rough filter material and a rough cloth BUT it's still present! I would hate to buy a bottle of EXCEL just for it. Would straight H2O2 take it off if squirted directly on it? Thanks.

The quickest and easiest way is to buy an acrylic-specific magnetic cleaner.

you should probably fix whats causing it as well. if you dont, then it will just keep coming back.

Green spot algae IME is lack of co2 when too much light. Inject more co2 and/or shorten photoperiod to fix.

Increasing phosphate has about eliminated GSA in my tank.

My acrylic tank is really old and scratched and I use the original Mr. Clean sponge on it. The algae I have isn't as hard as GSA though and I only need to wipe maybe 3x, no scrubbing.

If the algae is really hard then popping it off with an old credit card works well.

+1 for Kathy

Phosphate, phosphate, phosphate

As I just mentioned in another post: Stop fighting algae and start growing plants.
