Will a krib kill a pleco?
I have a 20g long with a bristlenose and 6 celebes rainbows. I'm looking for some sort of nice centrepiece fish and am considering a krib, but the 'reviews' on their aggression levels are sort of mixed, though leaning towards the 'will kill' side. Can you get just one krib or will it be miserable? I know they're most aggressive when they're spawning and was thinking that maybe if I remove that factor things might be okay.

I don't think the kribs will kill a pleco. For one pleco's are kind of armored and for two plecos kind of hide most of the time and the krib probably won't even know its there. I have seen kribs in a community tank moving fry around and guarding them and it was only when fish got really close that they would chase away.

I have bristlenose pleco in with my kribs. Not a problem at all, when the kribs decide to lay eggs they just chase the plecos away but they don't hurt them. They should be fine.

Thanks guys! I've never had kribs before so I'm excited to try something new.
Mk4Gti celebes are tiny, do you really think adding 2 kribs will be an overload? I did check with aqadvisor and although I know that's not the be all, this plan is well under 100% stocking level. |

My BN will chase everyone away when he is intent on a veggie tab, including rams. Kribs dont usually of out of their way to go after other fish. Even when breeding I have never seen them attack another fish, just chase it away.
