Ferting moss and floaters

I'm trying to get my 13g ready for shrimp in the next month or so. I want the moss to fill in better than it has and I'm having trouble keeping salvinia alive (). Would daily macros and micros (I use RootMedic macros and Pfertz micros) help them along or would it be a waste? They're under a 15w T8, on for around 11 hours a day. No CO2 and I don't want to dose Excel with the snails in there. The only inhabitants are mystery snails and I do weekly water changes so I'm not terribly concerned about nitrates being too high right now.

Then do a weekly 50% water change to make sure no single fert gets too high. I dose seachem flourish that have trace doses. It even has copper but so little that it doesn't bother them, both mystery snails and mts

My mystery snails munch on it. I keep moving some from other tanks to get enough to stay ahead of the snails but it's not working. I think its roots are so pretty and I'd love to see it all over my tank. So I'm hoping that by dosing the tank every day I can get the salvinia to take off on its own to grow faster than the snails can eat it. I feed the damn snails just about every day and they pig out so I don't know why they feel the need to eat the poor, defenseless salvinia.

I was told to break it up into small, daily doses.

I don't use Trace since I assume my purigen and other water conditions will just remove the metals. Right now I do some potassium (hard to OD) and phosphorous. Might add a dropper for liquid co2 (EasyCarbo) but doubt its necessary.
