Just summertime?

I have a 7.5 gallon cube with Pumpkin Neos and S grade CBS. It has an AC30 HOB, no CO2 and a fan that is temp controlled to keep it at a steady 72 degrees (even though it's been 110 here some days!) I believe my GH is about 6, KH 0, pH 6.5, and TDS about 225....

A few weeks ago, I rescaped, taking out the rock and reattaching some of my moss to new driftwood...

I had no deaths at the time, although some of my peewee CBSs have seemed to disappear over the last couple of weeks. No adults lost.

My questions are, does it being summertime have an effect on breeding even when the tank is kept at a steady temp? Because I have had no new berried shrimp for awhile, at least a month.

Also, my CBS babies don't survive in large numbers. It's a pretty low percentage. They aren't high grade, so I'm not sure what the problem is....

Does anyone have any thoughts? I feel like my tank is not thriving, although I'm not really having deaths, except for a low number of surviving CBS babies. The Pumpkins aren't getting berried either.

They're probably just stressed from the rescape and are readjusting to their new home. Mine aren't berrying up yet either, and this is 2 weeks removed from a new home and a bacterial outbreak in my other tank.

I heard mating is supposedly supposed to increase during the summertime.

I think mating increases in the summer time even if your temperature is regulated. The atmosphere pressure changes, and I feel the minute difference is felt with the shrimps.

From personal experience this was also the case. My heat is free at my apartment so I kept the place at 70F throughout the winter. Only had one batch of shrimplets the entire time, not even a lot of berries. Now.. with the temperature getting warmer I see TONS and TONS of babies.

I know my shrimps get wriggly when it's cooler and rainy.

Huh. Well I'm definitely not having any good summertime lovin' going on in my tank.
Lots of molting, but no berrying. It's frustrating.
