Recently just acquired one from my LFS thats the thing they only had one, I am assuming its a male, haven't read up on sexing, but I did read they do good in a harem type setup, that being said were would be a good place to pick up a couple more?

Pictures? Agassizis can be hard to breed, and it depends on the male's preferences as to whether they'll go harem or pair. Females hate each other, so make sure you have a lot of cover in the tank. Aquabid.com has some agassizis at the moment. You might check them out.

i know with Apisto borelli the males are large and colorful, and the females are small, and tend to be mainly one color. but don't quote me, i'm not sure if it is the same across the board.

check out Apistogramma.com

In my (limited) experience, Apisto females are usually smaller, and a lot less colorful. The Agassiz females I've seen look almost yellow.

yea not worried about the females being colorful. just worry, I had some blue rams, the female died and shortly after so did the male, quit eating etc

Females usually lack the metallic-blue spangles that border the lateral stripe and the cheeks. They also usually lack the fully red dorsal fin.
