Koi jump out with water movement???
Everytime I install a power head or any filtration device at least one koi always jumps out.
They seem to like swimming against the current and then jump out. I'm thinking of making like an 8 foot pvc diffuser and installing it along the bottom. The pond is roughly 8 feet x 3 feet X 2feet deep or 375 gallons. Thanks Last edited by ralph50; 04-24-2012 at 03:18 PM.. |

I remember last year with my pond, one of my koi jumped out right behind the water fall. It looked like he was trying to act like a salmon. Dumb fish. LOL.

Koi jump in currents to "swim upstream", but in this case it doesn't end well. You can always try nets, they are helpfull to keep koi in and leaves and predators out. Hope this helps

Koi also jump from stress, either caused by low water quality or predators. So if you have a test kit that may help.

My koi love swimming against currents. They also jump around when spawning
