Hi Everyone, first day here. love the atmosphere most welcoming forum.

Hamilton, NJ...inexperienced in the tank world...so I need help. Would love to get my tank planted. Have Angles and a Pleco.

What kind of tank setup do you have now? I can give you some Brazilian pennywort, amazon frogbit, and anacharis - they are pretty hardy plants that can even do fine at low light.

I will join... I am a newb from North Brunswick and would love to meet some jersey people who are willing to talk shop and maybe let me see some of their set ups so i can learn. I have been doing cichlids for years and now into shrimp and plants.

West New York, NJ here. Yes, it's in New Jersey.....next to Weehawken. Been in the hobby 9 months and I am an addict!! Started with a ten gallon for my daughter and ended up having to do tons of research because I didn't know what I was doing. I literally have done a couple hundred hours of research. I upgraded to a 29 community, ventured into live plants and FINALLY got the wife to let me hook up the 10 gallon again so I can breed endlers and rcs. If I had the space, and funds, I would be going for a 75 gallon. I am an addict!! hahahahaha

I also like to hit Fish Hut at the same time. AF is down the highway in Clifton and Fish Hut is in on RT 46 in Saddlebrook. (east)

They both have good selection and I noticed FH is cheaper than AF

Totally agree with Fish Hut and Fishtown. Absolutely Fish I'm so-so on, especially after seeing how high some of their prices are. Where is Fish Emporium? I'm always down to check out new spots!

Im in Central Jersey (East Brunswick, too

) but havent really hit up any of the LFS.
Never need anything bad enough to justify driving 40 minutes to a store lol.
If its ever nice out again i'll take my SSR out for a road trip to your store, F22.

Everyone is cheaper than absolutely fish, but believe it or not, you can negotiate prices with them. It's one of the only stores I've ever seen put a sign on a tank of unhealthy fish that they're not for sale until they're better. Something like that goes a long way in my book. Plus they have a decent plant selection.

Never knew that, I just walk out of there empty handed usually.

How much where you able to negotiate and what was it originally?
