Too much light for 29G planted tank?
Hi all,
I have a 29g tall (30x12x18 I believe) planted tank. Recently I found a great deal on a 30in Coralife fixture with 2x65 watt PCF bulbs at 6700k each. I was wondering if this TOO much light for the tank. Should I just run one of the bulbs at a time? The tank also has pressurized CO2 and I'm starting EI dosing in a couple days. Thanks for your advice! |

I wouldn't mind knowing this myself, just starting to look at lighting for a 29g.

That amount of lighting would be appropriate for a reef tank, but waaay too much for a planted tank. One 65W would be plenty for high-light demanding plants (and too much for low-light plants).
