What is the difference btwn driftwood & grape driftwood

What is the difference between driftwood and grape driftwood? I've heard that grape driftwood gets soft and falls apart faster, but how much faster? I've never had either, but I'm looking to buy something for my catfish to chew on.

Well, grapewood isn't even driftwood. It's just dried out old branches of grape vines. It does get soft quickly. Not sure if it would be good for plecos or not.

I think the grapevine/grapewood is most commonly used for non-submersed applications such as for reptiles, etc. Every piece of it I've ever seen at a pet store had " Not for aquarium use" or something similar on the tag, and I assume that is for a reason.

I have had grapevine in my 75gal planted tank for abut 2 years. it dose put off a fuzzy mold for about 2 months but I had it in a tank of bleach water for a month and then started doing weekly water changes to get any left over bleach out of it.

I had them holding a piece of "grape driftwood" at the LFS, but I'll drop that like a hot coal and spend a bit more for actual driftwood (esp. after how it sounds Nailed has struggled.) I really appreciate you guys responding so quickly, too.
