ehiem 1262 hobby pump
I can't get the connectors on my ehiem pump to fit my pipes, they don't seem to be 1" or 3/4", has anybody else used on of these, and if so what did you use for connections?
This is the email I sent marinedepot.com that explains in more detail. I recently ordered a ehiem 1262 hobby pump from you.Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated! |

This sounds like a major pita. I thought the hobby pumps fit the 12/16 mm tubing??? Anyways, you could always try hose couplings from Lowes?

I would suggest trying a phone call. Always much better IMHO than an Email. I know it's an archaic means of communication but it almost always gets results.
Second Eheim pumps always use odd size tubing. They also use metric tubing. While the threaded fittings are English sizes the rest of the fittings are made for Eheim tubing. A simple Google search for "eheim hobby pump" turns up this page http://www.drsfostersmith.com/produc...4&N=2004+22788 which gives you the sizes of tubing needed. |

I actually received an email back from ehiem today
Thank you for your e-mail. As the EHEIM 1262 is manufactured in Germany, the thread connectors and outputs are not in metric system. Also the 3/4" output nozzle is to be used with flexible tubing and not with PVC pipes. I'm sorry for the inconvenient but EHEIM doesn't manufacture any adaptors that will work with 3/4" pipes. In order to connect the output we recommend to use EHEIM hose # 4005943 which is 16mm inside diameter and 22mm outside diameter.Of course my problem is if the hoses are metric, how do I hook this thing up to anything else in my loop, I planned on using the eheim as a pump for an ocean clear canister filter, and have the 1" drain from my aquarium go right to the suction side of the pump. May have to just get a different pump. |

This is the email I recieved today from the site I bought the pump at, much more promising response than I got from eheim. I'm crossing my fingers.
