What is the easiest carpeting plants?

I like Staurogyne repens.

Not so messy when trimming and clearing up and not so demanding on co2 as much as other carpeting plants.

I have tried M. minuta, L. mauritiana, and dwarf sag. None of them really grow in my tank. What is wrong with me? *sob*

'Carpeting' plants are at the bottom of a tank, but they want the light too. And most of them want a LOT of light. Sort of "damn if you do, damn if you don't" situation.
