reccomendations for 36" F30T bulb ??

Time to double the wattage over my 54gal tank, currently 60watts(1.11wpg) going to 120watts(2.22wpg)

. I've already got the fixture, just need to add bulbs. The bulbs need to be the 36" F30/T variety. I already have a hagen aqua-glow and a power-glow in one fixture. Can anyone reccomend a good bulb for a planted tank??manufacturers don't make 36"gro bulbs :cry:

I've always been a fan of Gro-Lux or Aqua-Glo bulbs for plant growth, but after seeing how my plants respond to GE's 9325k bulbs, I'll never use another on my planted tanks.
Drs Foster & Smith carry the GE AquaRay bulbs in the 30 watt size for $10.59/bulb

Those Aqua Rays are T8s, and I highly recommend them. Any reason why they HAVE to be T12?

Is that aquaray available thru home improvement stores, or lioghting stores? I don't like paying for shipping charges because it is sometimes worth the product itself, and I have to wait days.

I'd rather buy it myself, and im fortunate to live in San Diego so I don't need to worry about something not available here basically.

Anyway, thank you.

Actually guys the hagen 36" bulbs are T10 1.25"dia

While at my favorite LFS getting supplies for my wifes Degus, I decided to take a look at the AGA flourescent light strips :idea: . I found dunh,dunh,duh....

GE aquarays Fresh and Salt F30W/T8-AR-FS :P
So I went and found my favorite sales guy Eric :roll: . Asked if he sold the bulbs, he said no but he would sell the bulb out of the fixture for $10 CDN. YAY!!!

Just got home and switched the bulbs around, more purple than the Aqua-glo, more intense than the power-glo. The plants started pearling about 10 mins after installing 1 Aquaray with 1 Aqua-glow. The colour is more purple but everything in the tank is brighter looking. I deffinately have to get more of these aquarays!

I'm going to try one of the local lighting wholesalers and see if he can get me a case (6pcs) of these F30W/T8-FR-FS. If anyone wants a couple of this size of bulbs let me know

$10 cdn is a good deal for that bulb.

As far as those bulbs go........ Would I steer you wrong?
