The Gumi: A tank journal.

So I thought I would post what is shaping to become my first planted Iwagumi. Any comments/ideas would be greatly appreciated!

This is a Mini M sporting some beautiful Aqua Soil Malaya (yes, Malaya

) Eheim 2213,200W Hydor inline, paintball CO2 and Cal Aqua lilly pipes, and a 27W 10,000k Archaea (thinking of swapping for a 6500k)

The gorgeous seiryu stone was purchased from cookymonster760...and I must say I was impressed on how good they actually looked. I've done many other planted tanks using your "run off mill" LFS stones...but I might never go back.

I'm thinking HC for foreground, some micro sword/blyxa/DHG in front of the main stone on the left, and behind the stone on the right. I don't know whether I should add a larger plant behind the main stone so any help on that would be great.

PS - Sorry for the photo quality...I don't have my good camera on me

Looks like a great start... my only question is what is the paper with the lines on it for?

The tank is also a drafting table!!

That's right!! I also use it to plan where to place my plants

Also TexasCichlid, I saw your 60P...and it turns out we have pretty similar rock scapes

How is that tank coming along?

I got the canister tubing plumbed up today, and am going to mount my CO2 tank to the wall this afternoon. Was going to fill it last weekend but I cut some of my tubing too short and had to wait for more. I will probably fill the tank Friday afternoon or Saturday morning. DSM has really filled out. Despite the CO2 I'm planning on it being a shrimp tank with some zebra otos.

Coming soon! Planted HC emersed, now waiting on some rotala. once its full I'll add some blyxa too

Been a long time since I have posted here. Tank is "ready"...it never ends does it. Added some blyxa, rotala and porto velho. Today I added fish, finally, 8 harlequin rasboras. Started with two amano's and two ottos about 3 months ago and managed to avoid any algal bloom. Battled some diatoms for about 3 months too, but they have since cleared!
