Two T8 light or One T8 with LED combo
I am getting ready to build a new hood for my 15 gallon planted tank with diy co2. I currently have the hood that came with the tank with a 18" T8 Zoo Med Flora Sun 5000k. I am planning on making the hood be 5-8" above the water line. I had an idea to put two 18" T8 fixtures with the 5000k and 6500k. Another thought I had was to have the one T8 light with a couple of these LED lights http://www.lowes.com/pd_696-24994-HT...hts&facetInfo=. I dont know, just trying to do something a little different. Let me know what you guys think.

I doubt if those LED light bars will give enough PAR to be of any help. A pair of T8 bulbs should be plenty of light for a 12-13 inch high 15 gallon tank, with the bulbs about 5-7 inches above the top of the tank.
