Memphis - Memfish

Memfish is a little aquarium store (with some nice tanks) in East Memphis/G'town area. When they first opened they had a lot of plants and a couple of nice display tanks. Unfortunately they fell to the scourge that takes many of us in the early days and were dismantled.

Despite a slightly decreasing freshwater selection they have Excel and look like they are venturing back into the planted tank world. It looks like they set up a couple of planted display tanks recently. It may be worth stopping by to add an atta-boy to their register. They don't really have plants to speak of right now, but I think there's at least one employee who keeps Planted tanks.

I just thought I'd offer an overly verbose heads up.

Memfish Has been really helpful. It's also locally owned go here rather than your petco.

They also have a sidewalk sale every few weeks, One of the employees said he scored a 150 gallon tank for 60 bucks.

Can't beat that.

I became a customer of theirs in November. I stop by 1-2 times a week for RO water.

I couldn't be happier with them.

As for the plants, I overheard the staff complaining about the quality of the plants they were getting from their supplier. I found that pretty assuring and took it as that they care about what they sale.

They have 2 new planted displays up. I think the main is a 90 gallon Discus tank. Nothing mine-blowing but they are always working on it when I come in. The other is a new huge vivarium.

It'd be awesome to have some place locally that I could walk in and buy plants from.

I thought they had closed?

or was that just renovations? I'll have to stop by there and check out their selection. It's on Quince, right?

Nope, they are still up and running.

Amy is the plant person there and she is ordering more and a better variety of plants. Still just a shadow of the corals, but better than the local big-box store. I was just there yesterday and they had a new order including some HC.

YEAP and they are trying to bring back their planting options. I actually saw that they had a Mil regulator and 2 weeks later it was gone.

Prices are pretty good as well.

I go there for alot of my supplies. Their prices and Products are very good. I have bought part of my plants from there as well. They carry plants that the others do not carry. Elisabeth from petsmart is now with them as well. She knows both fresh and salt water.
